Ode to David Ortiz
Here he comes up to the plate,
Hitting home runs is his fate.
He reads his coaches signs as if it were a book,
He stares at the pitcher with an intimidating look.
With the number 34 stitched on his jersey,
Are there any pitchers who are worthy?
He gets into his stance with his bat held back,
Ready to give the ball a whack!
At the plate he is ready to deliver,
But at the mound, the pitcher starts to quiver.
The pitcher throws with all of his might,
And he crushes the ball out of sight.
Another home run to his stat,
He gives the Fenway crowd a tip from his hat.
Ortiz is without argue the best baseball player to live,
Praise and glorification to him they must give.
